My blog is going to be whatever I do for the day ---- my artwork , my riding..... I had separated accounts for things now have decided to just do one.......I'm working on getting some photos of my artwork up so possibly can gain some followers? Should I add politics?????
Fancy is an oldenburg homebred mare who's attitude is matched by her beauty and intelligence.

Thus far, she has had it easy in life.... being fed and not being asked to work.... so being like the child with chores and now is a teenager being told to get a job, she is resistant to the idea. She is also curious and likes attention, she seems to want to please until she decides she's done playing games with people.....then it gets nasty.

Today was a good ride.... bareback with a rope halter and reins. Lots of small bending circles walking with halt transitions. We had a couple of moments where she decided to try something she wanted to do and had a small spin and rear.....I clamped my legs around her barrel and pulled on her face until she softened, when she softens, I soften and it she gets round and loose. That's when I stop for a treat and some neck scratches that she likes.....

Another point she was swishing her tail resistant to being asked to walk in directions she doesn't want to go..... I thumped her sides and circled her to break up the resistance.
Amazing she is so responsive to just a halter and reins.......I really don't want to have to use a bit.....good ride..... lets hope tomorrow we can trot.....

I would like to find a nice home for Journey.... she's a good kids pony. I cannot say "childsafe"... no one can guarantee what a horse or pony will do.... animals have their own instincts and behaviors. They react.... but I have seen her in some pretty funky situations with kids and have been surprised at how much she can tolerate! 18 years old, sound, snaffle or halter/leadrope, follows horses on trails and has gravitated to a grown-up when the kids don't know what to do....stout qh type welsh/poa chestnut mare. Nice pony, if she were14.3 I wouldn't be selling her. She does not "model" well)))

what's important?

It's been a long time since the last post .... many changes have occurred. Many of the necessary and good for me ..... I'm currently undergoing a significant adjustment which requires some downsizing ... I'm going to sell the extraneous and concentrate on the priorities!  Sounds easy?  now comes the hard part....

Blue Pirouette

I just "sized" the photo of a painting to send to someone so I figured I would post it and see if anyone likes it -- please let me know what you think.... I am not sure if it is done or if it needs a couple of touch ups. I usually place a painting in a central location and every time I walk by, take a look to see how it "hits" me ... funny how some paintings I need to do this and others just say "done" . I guess that is part of the learning process!! It is 12"x12" acrylic on watercolor paper.
