two great rides on Fancy....she can be such a brat....Simple serpentines, making  round half circles and switching back,  really gets her mad for some reason!   She'll do a few then decide she's DONE and pins those fine ears, swishes her tail, plants her feet.....I just squeeze tight and start scolding her....she starts moving again.....she's getting more consistent and we're trying a few trotting circles now.... still just bareback and leadropes. I'm amazed at how responsive she is with just that....

Fiber Art

My blog is going to be whatever I do for the day ---- my artwork , my riding..... I had separated accounts for things now have decided to just do one.......I'm working on getting some photos of my artwork up so possibly can gain some followers? Should I add politics?????
Fancy is an oldenburg homebred mare who's attitude is matched by her beauty and intelligence.

Thus far, she has had it easy in life.... being fed and not being asked to work.... so being like the child with chores and now is a teenager being told to get a job, she is resistant to the idea. She is also curious and likes attention, she seems to want to please until she decides she's done playing games with people.....then it gets nasty.

Today was a good ride.... bareback with a rope halter and reins. Lots of small bending circles walking with halt transitions. We had a couple of moments where she decided to try something she wanted to do and had a small spin and rear.....I clamped my legs around her barrel and pulled on her face until she softened, when she softens, I soften and it she gets round and loose. That's when I stop for a treat and some neck scratches that she likes.....

Another point she was swishing her tail resistant to being asked to walk in directions she doesn't want to go..... I thumped her sides and circled her to break up the resistance.
Amazing she is so responsive to just a halter and reins.......I really don't want to have to use a bit.....good ride..... lets hope tomorrow we can trot.....
